Tesco is trialling virtual fridges at Gatwick airport which allow travellers to order essential items for when they return from holiday.
The two-week trial set up in Gatwick’s North Terminal allows passengers to scan up to 80 barcodes of products displayed on the virtual fridge with their phone. The items can then be delivered up to three weeks later.
There are ten fridges around the terminal manned by staff who can assist in the scanning process. If successful, Tesco intend to install further fridges in other travel hotspots- including across the underground.
