The China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) has reported its ‘largest ever’ cyber-attack.
Servers responsible for sites with a “.cn” domain name were targeted, resulting in many of the websites going temporarily offline. This was due to an influx of requests to view internet pages in an attempt to render them unreachable. This is known as a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack.
It is currently unknown who was responsible.
