The Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) have announced that from September 2014 they will be offering a qualification for 14-16 year olds.
The Certificate in Fundamentals of Business and Finance will be offered to young people in full time education at key stage 4 and has been approved by education regulator Ofqual.
The CISI Education Trust has also been able to recruit a qualified teacher to support schools, sponsor the development of teacher materials and provide mentoring support to schools at no additional cost.
Ruth Martin, CISI Managing Director, said: ‘We are delighted that the CISI has achieved Ofqual recognition for a qualification aimed at 14-16 year olds. We believe that professional bodies, skilled in understanding the needs of those who may one day wish to work in the sector, are ideally placed to offer relevant, high quality qualifications tailored especially to secondary school age pupils.’
