EY has appointed a new partner, Mark Wardle, to its private equity and capital transactions (PCT) team. Wardle joins EY’s mergers and acquisition tax practice, which has seen growth in recent years as private equity firms continue to invest in UK and international groups across a range of sectors.


BDO auditor fired for altering files earmarked for inspection

BDO has fired one of its accountants for tampering with files earmarked for inspection by UK regulators in the latest case of an auditor losing their job for retrospectively altering paperwork.


Auditors should proactively consider the implications of climate-related risks on companies and assess whether a misstatement or omission of such disclosures could be financially material, the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) said.
