Clients of the Audit department tend to be companies with a turnover of up to £150million per annum forming the majority of the client base. Our client base is diverse, providing the opportunity to learn about different types of organisations from varying industry sectors.
Aside from the statutory audit of the financial statements of companies, the department handles specialist work such as the audits of pension schemes, charities and grant claims, as well as ‘special work’ such as due diligence and other transaction-related projects.
Our Assistants play a key role in supporting the work described above and, gain tremendous experience to provide top quality career development. You will benefit from on the job training from more senior members of the team, as well as joining peers on internal training courses that will develop you as an individual.
Assistants will become involved in client work very quickly, initially working as part of a larger team – perhaps taking responsibility for specific audit tests or aspects of the audit file.

You’ll need to bring a minimum of five GCSEs at grades A to C (including at least a grade B in Maths and English Language), or a minimum of five Standard Grades at grades 1 to 3 (including at least a grade 2 in Maths and English Language). Plus at least 280 UCAS points (excluding General Studies), or equivalent and a minimum of a 2.1 expected or obtained degree (or an ordinary degree if studying or obtained from a Scottish university). But we’ll be looking for more than just academic achievement. We’d like to see something out of the ordinary, the kind of uniqueness that makes you, you.
