About BDO
When the most ambitious, entrepreneurial and high-growth businesses need advice on accountancy and business, they turn to BDO. We are a major global player in our industry and take pride in always keeping sight of our clients’ unique needs. Integrity is at the heart of everything we do. The investment we make in building long-term relationships with our clients is a big part of why our clients would recommend us more than any other firm.
We work closely with each other too. Taking a collaborative, agile approach, you’ll find yourself working side by side with managers, directors and partners. For you, this all means more real experience and bigger responsibilities, earlier in your career than you might expect. It’s easy to be inspired at BDO.
Audit at BDO
Audit is about exploring whether our clients’ statements about their financial position are true, fair and accurate. We work closely with their finance team and other key stakeholders to really get to know their business and identify any weaknesses – from their financial statements, to their business systems or working culture. We then provide tailored advice on suitable solutions. On our trainee programmes, you will develop specialist skills and work on fascinating projects while studying for specialised qualifications. You may also have opportunities to gain other qualifications during your programme.
As an Auditor at BDO, you’ll work with all kinds of different organisations in a host of sectors. We have specialist areas ranging from real estate to public sector assurance, from professional service to not-for-profit, from consumer markets to the energy mining industry, and from technology media through to internal audit, with a public sector or risk and advisory focus. Whichever stream you follow, every day will bring a new and rewarding challenge.
The programme
On our three year Graduate Programme, you’ll find yourself working side by side with managers, directors and partners, developing your skills and knowledge, with paid study leave to work towards recognised industry qualifications. Along the way, you’ll enjoy excellent support including coaching and mentoring.
We have vacancies nationwide, in the following offices: Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Glasgow, Guildford, Ipswich, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Norwich, Nottingham, Reading, Southampton, and on Guernsey.
What we’re looking for
We’ll expect you to have, or be on course for, a 2:2 or above in any degree discipline. You should also have three A Levels in any subject (excluding General Studies and Extended Projects) plus GCSEs in Maths and English Language, all at grades A* – C. Equivalent international qualifications are welcome.
We recognise that your qualifications and work experience don’t tell us the full story. So we’re keen to find out what you care about and love to do in life. After all, BDO is a place where you should feel free to be yourself. We always look for people who are supportive, responsible, honest and collaborative.
We’ll also expect to see you demonstrate the values we all share at BDO:
- Mutual support and respect
- Empowerment and personal responsibility
- Professional and personal relationships
- Honesty and integrity
