University isn’t the only way to be inspired and build a rewarding career. You can gain excellent qualifications and explore a great future in Audit at BDO.
We’re experts in accountancy and business. Our clients are fast-growing and ambitious companies, in a huge range of different industries. They come to us for all kinds of advice and support. They know they can rely on us, because we take care to really get to know what they do and what they want to achieve. We work closely with each other, too. For you, this means great opportunities to develop specialist skills alongside brilliant people. It’s easy to be inspired at BDO.

Audit at BDO

Audit is about making sure the things our clients say about their finances are true, fair and accurate. We work closely with them and really get to know their business. With what we learn, we can help them to improve their financial statements, the systems they use and the way they work.
As an Auditor at BDO, you’ll work with all kinds of organisations. There are lots of different areas you could specialise in, from real estate to technology and media, not-for-profit, and many more.

The programme

On our four-year School Leaver Programme, you’ll learn a huge amount from real experience. We’ll also give you paid time off to study for respected professional qualifications. With proper responsibilities from day one, you’ll be gaining valuable commercial experience that you might not get at university. Along the way, you’ll enjoy excellent support including coaching and mentoring.
We have vacancies nationwide, in the following offices: Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Glasgow, Guildford, Ipswich, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Norwich, Nottingham, Reading, Southampton, and on Guernsey. So there’s a good chance you can live and work close to home if you want to.

What we’re looking for

We’ll expect you to have or be predicted 3 A Levels in any subject (excluding General Studies and Extended Projects) at grades A* – C. You should also have GCSEs in Maths and English Language, also at grades A* – C. Equivalent international qualifications are welcome.
We know that your qualifications and work experience don’t tell us the full story. So we’re keen to find out what you care about and love to do in life. After all, BDO is a place where you should feel free to be yourself. We always look for people who are supportive, responsible, honest and happy working as part of a team.

The rewards

As well as the competitive salary and benefits package they receive, trainees say they love what a friendly and welcoming place BDO is to work. As one of a large group of trainees around the country, you’ll get the chance to meet young people like yourself and take part in activities and events together. Colleagues in your team could also become great friends. We organise sporting and social events and give you up to 10 days a year to do voluntary or charitable work. If you ever need support or advice, your counselling manager or buddy can help. In certain offices, we’ll even pay for your breakfast if you get to the office before 8:30am!

Apply

We recommend applying early so you don’t miss out on a place. If you’d like to find out more, there’s plenty of information on our website. You can also find out about open days at our offices.
