We are looking to recruit an ACA trainee to join our 5 partner firm, based in London, NW3. The role is a full-time fixed term 3 year contract which includes a full study package to enable you to reach ACA qualification at the end of your contract. Your study will be linked to a L7 apprenticeship and you will be required to meet the apprenticeship standard as well as achieving passes in your professional ICAEW exams and completing the administrative requirements that prepares you for application to join the ICAEW as a full member at the conclusion of your training.
Alongside your studies and exams, you will gain a wide breadth of experience across bookkeeping, VAT preparation, management accounts, annual statutory accounts, corporation tax and audit, as well as some more specialist areas. Experience will be wide to begin, both to ensure that you develop all of the necessary skills to succeed in the workplace and also to help you find any areas that you enjoy and are particularly strong at.
You will receive both regular feedback on work, to assist you in learning, and a six-monthly review with the staff training partner both to take a high level review of work done over the previous 6 months and a plan for the coming 6 months, to ensure both that you are progressing and that the work mix is suitably broad or specialised, depending on both your needs and the practice’s needs. The staff training partner is available at any time to discuss (confidentially) any matters of concern.
Your working week will be Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week. Currently we require staff to be in the office for at least two days with some flexibility around core hours of 9:30am to 4:30pm. Our standard office hours at 9am until 5pm, with an hour for a lunch break.
You will be entitled to 20 days annual leave together with all bank holidays. Should a course clash with a bank holiday, you will be entitled to a day of time off in lieu. You will also qualify and be auto-enrolled in our workplace pension scheme, unless you choose to “opt out”.
Our starting salary is currently £29,000 per annum.
