Deadline

30 Jun 2017

Contrary to popular belief not all audit is about numbers and accounting! Internal Audit gives you an insight into the operations of a wide variety of our clients and the departments that help organisations to run smoothly.  Working as a member of one of our Internal Audit teams, you will be required to make recommendations to clients on how to effectively manage their strategic, financial and operational risks, suggesting ways they can improve processes and controls which will enable them to become better managed organisations in the future.
The work is infinitely varied, interesting and rewarding.  No client is the same so you can expect to be constantly challenged.  While gaining real hands on experience, your development in the role will be optimised by training from more experienced colleagues who are there to ensure that you not only succeed when challenged, but that you do so with growing confidence.

Requirements

As an Internal Auditor you may be required to travel up to 2 hours from your chosen office to visit client sites.  A full UK/EU driving licence and access to a car is preferred for all locations, but not essential for London.  Even though you are applying to a particular office, the office location is just a base as you will be at client sites for the majority of the time, rather than at the office location.

Training

From day one you will have the chance to work with a wide range of clients including large NHS hospitals, local councils, Universities and Colleges, as well as large government departments such as the Foreign Office or Department for International Development.  You could also be working with a number of household names in our corporate sector clients.
Alongside your client work, your development within this role will be optimised by our programme of specialist internal courses, external training and on-the-job mentoring.  Highly regarded within the industry, you will embark on a programme that is among the best.  Our on-going structured programme of skills development will support your career, ensuring you are well-equipped to meet both our clients’ and your own personal expectations throughout your career with RSM.
Providing an almost unique insight of the different operations of an organisation, within a short space of time a career in Internal Audit will equip you with a diverse range of skills that you can take with you through your career path.

Key skills/attributes

We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who are quick to learn, driven and dedicated.  For the majority of the time Internal Auditors work autonomously, therefore you need to be self-motivated and highly organised.  You will get involved in a variety of tasks so you must be able to demonstrate a willingness to learn – flexibility and adaptability is an absolute must!  Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential as you will be communicating at all levels, often explaining complex information both in meetings and in written reports.
