Job Role
As an Restructuring Services Trainee, your role is to be part of a team handling formal insolvency cases, such as administrations and liquidations of limited companies. The work involves the realisation of assets, such as the recovery of trade debtors, sales of property, plant & equipment and stocks, the agreement of creditors’ claims and the payment to them of dividends. In addition, we carry out investigations into the circumstances surrounding the failure of companies and deal with any consequent civil litigation that may be necessary as a result of our investigations and prepare formal reports to creditors and government departments.
Your time will be split between working at client premises, working in the office and studying for your professional exams.
During your training period, you will work for Senior Restructuring Services Administrators, or direct to Managers and Partners as your experience and skills develop. Colleagues who assign work to you will train you in how to carry it out, work alongside you and be available to assist you with any questions. You will potentially gain exposure to a number of different industries and organisations, from privately owned business (POB) up to major companies.
As a Restructuring Services Trainee, your typical daily duties will include:
- Reviewing claims submitted by creditors and agreeing them to company records;
- Handling asset realisations and liaising with professional advisors who assist us with this type of work:
- Developing communication skills to build relationships with key stakeholders through our reports to them;
- Utilising specialist insolvency software to record our work and transactions;
- Attending client meetings and social activities;
- Attending in-house technical training as required;
- Developing an awareness of the various services provided by Mazars.

Academic Requirements
- 1 or above in any degree discipline
- Minimum of 112 UCAS points (achieved in the same academic year, from your 3 best A Levels and excluding General Studies). This is based on the new 2017 UCAS Tariff. You can calculate your UCAS points using the UCAS Tariff Calculator.
- Grade B or above in GCSE English Language and Maths.

Training Contract & Study Support
We will fund for you to study towards the ACA qualification (CA in Scotland).
You will receive a full study package and time off to study and attend college.
