Main job purpose To work with the team and liaise with clients to ensure timely and accurate delivery of personal tax services.
Key responsibilities
Prepare straightforward personal tax returns using CCHPT
Prepare deferments of Class 1/2/4 as appropriate and file with HMRC
Update workflow reports, checklists and maintain list of work on hand
Check coding notices sent in by clients, telephone HMRC to arrange for amendments to the code number
Use HMRC on-line services and check for updates in tax payments and other tax information that is available on-line
Liaise with clients on the phone in respect of obtaining information needed to complete their tax returns and updating them on their tax affairs
Prepare written correspondence to clients and third parties as appropriate
Manage a portfolio of clients ensuring internal and external (eg HMRC) deadlines met
Work with senior members of the team on ad hoc projects as appropriate
Undertake research as required
Attend client meetings as required.
Prepare fee notes and manage work in progress.

Qualifications & experience
A Levels grade C or above (or qualified by experience)
Technical, training & skill levels
· IT literate
· Maintains high professional standards of conduct and practice
· Self-motivated
· Able to organise and manage time efficiently and effectively whilst being flexible
· Confident & good communication skills
Be personable and comfortable liaising with clients on the phone and in meetings.
· Takes responsibility for work tasks and quality, managing own workload and deadlines under supervision
· Shows enthusiasm and commitment to undertaking tasks as required and in particular in seeing tasks through to completion
· Builds rapport with peers internally and externally
