As a Tax Trainee you will be supporting the Tax Team on the delivery of high quality compliance and advisory tax services to clients. You will work across with a broad range of clients, covering a number of sectors – sizes ranging from privately owned business (POB) up to fully listed companies.
The outcome of your work will contribute to providing effective tax compliance and tax strategies to companies and individuals.
The complex and diverse nature of taxation means that tax advisers rapidly develop areas of specialist knowledge:

  • Private Individual Tax
  • Trusts & Estates
  • Corporate Tax
  • International Tax
  • Expatriate Tax
  • Indirect Tax (VAT)
  • Employment Tax

Job Role

  • To support the Tax Team with preparation of tax calculations
  • Involvement in written and verbal communications with HMRC
  • To support with the provision of high quality tax compliance on a portfolio of clients
  • To ensure sound knowledge of a client and its industry by researching background information and useful publications
  • To start to build client relationships
  • Communicate with the Tax Team on any issues or findings
  • To develop and apply technical knowledge gained from studies and on the job experience
  • To ensure timesheets are completed on a weekly basis
  • To have an awareness of the various services provided by Mazars
  • To maintain professional working relationships with clients
  • Attend client social activities
  • Attend all training courses as required

 Academic Requirements 

  • 2:1 or above in any degree discipline
  • Minimum of 280 UCAS points (to have achieved in the same academic year, from your best 3 A Levels and excluding General Studies).
  • Grade B or above in GCSE English Language and Maths.

Training Contract & Study Support

Graduates: We will fund for you to study towards the ATT/ACA/CTA qualification (dependent on office location).
