During your accountancy training you will undertake programmes of external study with high quality tuition providers. Our trainees study with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales (ICAEW), The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Throughout a training contract, which usually lasts for three years, our trainees spend several weeks at college, preparing to sit up to 15 exams.

If you are interested in applying for a training contract at Saffery Champness, the application process has several steps.

1) Complete an online application form. Except in exceptional circumstances, you will need at least a 2:1 at degree level (or predicted) and 300 UCAS points. Make sure your application has no spelling or grammar errors as these will most likely result in an automatic rejection.

2) We will send you a request to complete written numerical and verbal reasoning tests.

3) If the tests go well, a member of our HR team will call you for an initial telephone interview, followed by a short personality questionnaire.

4) Candidates still under consideration at this point will be invited to an assessment day. If you are successful, you will receive an official offer shortly after.

Like much of the industry, we recruit our trainees one year in advance of their actual starting date.
