Tina Riches, a senior CIOT director is leaving the professional institute after seven years to work at Smith & Williamson, where she will head up the tax function.
Riches will take over from Richard Mannion, who is to retire, in her new role in January 2014.
She commented: ‘It has been an honour to work for the CIOT, with a great technical team, and with HMRC, helping bring the experience of tax professionals to bear on so many changes to the tax system. I am pleased that the firm is keen for me to contribute to the work of the CIOT as a volunteer, providing input on tax matters via their committees.’
