What’s on offer?

The firm will provide sponsorship to study towards a professional qualification in tax: the ATT CTA tax pathway.

You’ll get paid study leave and we’ll even cover the cost of your exams. You’ll get regular check-ins and guidance to ensure you’re continuing to grow – with the aim for you to join us permanently upon completion.

Your role

In this position, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Contributing to the delivery of good quality VAT advice to our clients
  • Completing VAT documentation and other written work as required
  • Staying up to date with national and international VAT legislation developments
  • Conducting research to stay up to date on current commercial and economic developments related to your clients’ interests
  • Developing an understanding of a wide range of sectors, and any related technical issues or VAT risks
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships internally with colleagues and supporting them on client projects as needed – working closely with VAT Partner and wider team as required
  • Correspond with HM Revenue & Customs on relevant matters such as enquiries into a client’s VAT affairs, and work closely with clients to keep them updated

To be successful in this position, you’ll need the following skills:

  • A client-service focus; you’ll need to be responsive to the needs of clients and colleagues
  • The ability to build and maintain professional relationships effectively
  • Strong communication skills; both verbal and written
  • A natural curiosity coupled with strong research skills to support your understanding of the issues impacting your clients
  • Strong attention to detail, prioritisation and organisational skills
  • A collaborative, proactive and can do attitude
